  • Do I need prior experience to hire a paddleboard?
    No prior experience is needed! Our paddleboards are beginner-friendly, and we offer lessons and guided tours to help you get started.

  • What should I wear for paddleboarding on Windermere?
    We recommend wearing quick-drying sportswear or swimwear. Longjohn wetsuits are available to hire at £5 each or bring your own if you have one. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat on hotter days.

  • Are the paddleboards and kayaks suitable for beginners?
    Yes! Our equipment is designed for all skill levels, with stable boards and sit-on-top kayaks, all self rescuable and suitable for beginners.

  • What safety equipment do you provide?
    We provide buoyancy aids and safety briefings to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • Do you offer guided paddleboard tours? What can I expect?
    Yes, our guided tours explore beautiful parts of Windermere, including hidden bays and wildlife spots. Expect a relaxed, scenic paddle suitable for all levels.

  • How long can I hire a paddleboard or kayak for?
    We offer flexible hire periods—from hourly sessions to full-day hires. Check our booking system for available options.

  • Do you offer lessons for beginners? How long are they?
    Yes, we offer intro lessons that typically last 1 Hour, covering basics like balance, paddling techniques, and safety. Or book a Guided Tour for a longer journey.

  • Can I book a private lesson or group session?
    Absolutely! Private lessons and group bookings are available—perfect for families, friends, or corporate events.

  • What are your opening hours and how do I book?
    We are open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed on Mondays. Bookings can be made online via our website or by contacting us directly.

  • Are children allowed to paddleboard or kayak?
    Yes, children are welcome with adult supervision. Please contact us to discuss age and size requirements.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum age or weight limit?
    We recommend participants be at least 8 years old. Weight limits vary by board or boat type. Max board weight is 120kgs and 130kgs for a kayak. Please get in touch to discuss if you are unsure.

  • What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my booking?
    Safety comes first. If weather conditions are unsuitable (too windy/thunder and lightning), we will offer to reschedule or refund your booking.

  • Where is your paddleboard hire base located on Windermere?
    Our base is located on the south-west shore of Windermere. Check our website for the exact location at Newby Bridge.

  • Can I bring my own equipment?
    You may bring your own craft only when hiring from ourselves also. There is no public launching available at our site.

  • Are dogs allowed on the paddleboards?
    Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you on the boards!

  • Do you offer any special packages or discounts?
    We currently offer Half Price Children for Paddleboards hire on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the Summer holidays.

  • How do I prepare for my paddleboarding session?
    Wear appropriate clothing, bring water, and arrive 10 minutes early for a safety briefing.

  • Is parking available at your location?
    Yes, parking is available on site.

  • Can I pay on site, or do I need to book and pay online?
    Online booking and payment are preferred to guarantee your spot, but we also accept on-site payments subject to availability.

  • What should I do if I’ve never done paddleboarding before?
    No worries! Join one of our beginner lessons or guided tours to learn the basics with expert guidance.

  • Are your paddleboards suitable for all skill levels?
    Yes, our boards are designed to be stable and easy to use for beginners and enjoyable for experienced paddlers.

  • Do you offer group bookings or corporate events?
    Yes, we can accommodate groups and corporate bookings with tailored packages.

  • Are paddleboards and kayaks insured?
    Yes, all our equipment is insured and regularly maintained for your safety.

  • Can I cancel or reschedule my booking? What is your policy?
